Isfahan Atashgah (Fire Place)

Atashgah building, the oldest historical building in Isfahan is dated back to the time of prosperity before Islam. It is located on a single rocky hill on the west part of the Isfahan city.

The main building is a cylindrical shape that according to the archaeological studies, its construction is dated back to the period before mede which means the period of ancient Illam.
Nowadays we can climb to the top of Atashgah mountain and stay next to this extinguished Zoroastrian temple to watch the beautiful view of Isfahan's gardens at the bank of Zayande Rood  river.
